Sunday-ish Snaps:
Yacht Week Recovery Mode

Greetings from Chiang Mai, in northern Thailand. I realize today isn’t Sunday, and I apologize for my absence the last week, but I do have a fair explanation. Yacht Week was great, very fun, especially the first half, but I’m paying for it now. Since finally stepping off the boat two days ago, I’ve been very sick.

I’m still not sure exactly what’s wrong with me – severe motion sickness, dehydration, some type of stomach flu, a cold, a strange infection, cumulative hangover, or some combination of the above. I’ve done nothing but sleep and drink lots of water, and I’ve started to take antibiotics, but I’m still experiencing a lot of dizziness and disorientation. As I sit here looking at the screen, the world is spinning around me and I haven’t been able to steady myself for days.

I did manage to get to Phuket airport this morning and onto a flight to Chiang Mai, and I’m planning to spend a couple weeks here. Initially, I was excited to get lots of writing done, catch up with all things blog-related, and network with other digital nomads, but at the moment I still can’t read or type for more than five minutes without needing to take a break to steady myself.

So for now, I’ll leave you with five lovely shots from Yacht Week, and the promise that as soon as I’m feeling normal again (here’s hoping it’s soon!) I’ll be back up and blogging. I have lots of thoughts on my first Yacht Week experience!

Happy belated New Year!

Managed to catch myself mid-air on Nemo. Not a bad spot for a swim off the back of the boat, you think?

Not your everyday parking lot - Koh Lanta wasn't a bad place to drop anchor for the night!

Sunset on the last night as we sailed back to Phuket was one of the most magical evenings I've ever experienced, despite the weird seasickness that had started to settle in at this point.

Thanks Hilary! Yes, the dehydration paired with extreme seasickness and hangovers….not good. But more on that later this week. It was an amazing experience though! And yes, I loved the baby elephant. I almost took it home with me.
